MAKEUP MUST HAVES

12:40 pm

Hi guys! It's slay season! So, I'm guessing you've read my post on Slaying within budget (if you've not, you can check it out here). You may have decided to get a makeup product or two or build a makeup kit if you're a beginner, that's great!
 Or, you may be thinking of packing for the Christmas travels but do not want to carry your entire makeup kit. This post is a list of what I think are the most important makeup products/tools. Let's get started.

1. Makeup Brushes;

 Makeup brushes reduce the stress of getting a beautiful finish. As far as I am concerned, makeup brushes are the most important makeup tools. You can have all the foundations, powders etc. but if you don't have good makeup brushes and know how to use them, you won't get that flawless look.

 There are different types, within different price ranges. Just make sure that you get the best that your budget can afford and that you buy original.

2. Eyebrow Pencil or Fillers;

I strongly believe that even without applying any other makeup product, well drawn brows kinda makes the face pop.
Zaron Eyebrow Filler
 You can just decide to draw your brows and that's it. You'll still look amazing. And best part, eyebrow pencils are one of, if not the cheapest makeup products. Amazing right?!

3. Eye-shadow Palette;

Eyeshadow Palette, Nude Hues

 In My Favorite House of Tara Product, Dubem said that the eyes are the windows of the soul. I couldn't say it better. Eye-shadow comes in different types, colours, etc. There are the shimmery ones, the glitters, nude hues, bright hues etc.

For a beginner, you might just want to go with the plain good old eye-shadow in a smaller palette, you might want a bigger palette, or you might want to step it up a notch with the shimmery or glitter shadows. Remember it all depends on your budget.

4. Foundation;

Classic Makeup Foundation

 There are a million and one brands of foundation, in different shades and different price range. I suggest you ask a personnel at any outlet you buy from to help you choose the right shade for you (I always do).

 Also, depending on whether your face is oily or not, they can help you choose the best foundation for your skin type.

5. Powder;
Zaron Mattifying Powder

 Just like I said under foundation, knowing your skin type and shade is key in buying the  powder that will work best for you.

6. Lipstick/Lip gloss;
Nyx Matte Lipstick

 These also come in countless brands and colours. Also there are the matte ones and the glossy ones (I love matte). There are also nude colours and bright colours (nude does not work for me or maybe I have been applying them wrongly). So it all depends on your choice, try different types and colours out and see which one works for you.

7. Primer;
Classic Face Primer

 I should have added this before foundation, but if you are on a tight budget you can do without. Its a colloidal or gel like product that helps makeup stay longer (Medical students remember primer in DNA replication? Well this works in a similar way.) I used it for the first time recently and loved it. It makes your face feel light, almost like you have no makeup on. There are face primers and eye-shadow primers by different brands. And the good thing is that it's a one type for all product.

8. Highlight and Contour Palette;
Ushas Contour Palette

 I think contouring is the real transformation, it really does wonders if you know how to do it. I am still trying to get a grip of it. There are also a lot of brands out there.

 So, these are the top 8 items that  should be in every makeup kit. There are so many other products out there that you can add to your kit with time. Remember, go for what you can afford, don't go broke trying to slay. And most importantly, buy original.

IS THERE ANY PRODUCT YOU THINK BELONGS TO THIS LIST? LET ME KNOW.
